Diamond Beach Veterinary Clinic was opened in 2003 by Dr Joe [Joseph] Power BVSc and Helen Power RVN, AVN, CIV VN, TAE. After operating a successful practice in Sydney, Joe and Helen were looking for a sea change and the ability to continue with their chosen profession. They were, and still are, passionate about establishing a small community-based practice servicing the local area.
“Dr Power and Helen work with a team provide an extensive range of pet services ranging from small animal medicine and surgery to dentistry, radiology, and pathology. Our services expand to preventative healthcare, including vaccinations, microchipping, flea and tick control, intestinal worming, and nutrition.
Our clinic is located in Diamond Beach, NSW. We serve clients from all over the area including Hallidays Point, Redhead, Nabiac, Failford, Darawank, Rainbow Flat, Coolongalook, Forster, Tuncurry and Taree. As well as assisting locals and new residents, many of our clients include holidaymakers who are visiting the area with their pets.

Emma Swilks is a dedicated veterinary professional originally based in Gloucester, known for her exemplary work in animal care and welfare. With a passion for animals from a young age, Emma pursued her education at Charles Sturt University, where she earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine. Her commitment to excellence in veterinary practice is reflected in her extensive experience and her active role in the local animal care community.
Emma began her career working with various veterinary clinics in Gloucester, where she gained valuable experience and honed her skills in both clinical and surgical settings. Her keen interest in preventive care and her empathetic approach to patient management have made her a respected figure among colleagues and clients alike.
In addition to her clinical work, Emma is an advocate for continuing education and frequently participates in workshops and seminars to stay updated with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. She is also involved in community outreach programs aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Joe graduated from Sydney University in January 1972. He had opened his first clinic in March 1974, which gives him more than 45 years of experience in the business. When Joe founded Diamond Beach Veterinary Clinic, it was the first full-time vet clinic in the area. Apart from offering high-quality pet care to our clients, Joe supports the local community with donations to the Hallidays Point Public School and Rural Fire Brigade.
