Vaccinations play a vital role in keeping pets healthy and protected from common diseases. At Diamond Beach Veterinary Clinic on the Mid North Coast, we offer pet vaccinations to support the wellbeing of animals in Diamond Beach and surrounding areas. This service is ideal for new pet owners, breeders and families prioritising their pet’s long-term health.
Vaccines help prevent diseases like parvovirus, distemper and kennel cough in dogs, as well as other common illnesses that can affect pets of all ages. Vaccination schedules are important for young pets and adult animals needing booster shots to maintain immunity.
Our clinic offers relaxed consultation times, allowing pet owners to discuss their pet’s vaccination needs and ask any questions. Our friendly staff are available for emergencies, and we’re committed to supporting our local pet-loving community.
In addition to vaccinations, we provide a full range of preventative care services, including flea and tick control, heartworm prevention and intestinal worming. We welcome dogs, cats and larger animals such as cows, alpacas, donkeys and deer.

Vaccinations are a key part of preventative healthcare for pets, helping to protect them from serious diseases that can impact their wellbeing and longevity.
Vaccines work by stimulating the immune system, preparing it to fight off infections like parvovirus, distemper and rabies, which can be life-threatening. Regular vaccinations also help reduce the spread of these diseases, creating a healthier environment for pets and their families.
For young animals, vaccinations are especially important as their immune systems are still developing. Maintaining a proper vaccination schedule with boosters as recommended supports your pet’s health through every stage of life.

Responsible pet care involves vaccinating your pet regularly. Vaccinations are the best way to protect your pet from a variety of diseases. If you put off vaccinating your pet, they might develop a disease that cannot be cured, which can have fatal consequences.
After the initial puppy vaccinations, vaccinations should be given each year of your adult dog’s life.
At Diamond Beach Veterinary Clinic, we recommend the initial vaccinations and then yearly vaccinations for life. This means your pet has the most up to date version of the vaccination, allows you to board your pet at kennels and catteries which require yearly vaccination and provides for better protection when they are socialising with other pets, especially holiday-makers, whose vaccination status may not be known.
Heartworm infects the dog’s heart and can cause heart and lung disease. Mosquitoes cause heartworm, which means your dog does not even have to leave the house to get infected. Disease prevention should continue for the life of your pet. If your dog hasn’t been on heartworm prevention before, a heartworm test is necessary before starting a preventative medication.
